TOP CAROUSELS
Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Top Carousels is operated by Moshn. Contact us at hello@topcarousels.com with privacy questions or requests about your information.
What we collect and why
- Account information: your name, email and profile image from Google when you sign in, plus the identifiers and session records needed to keep you signed in. Google sign-in is used for account identity; we do not request access to your Gmail inbox or Google Drive.
- Your activity in the app: bookmarks, collections, saved searches and notes that you choose to save. We use these to provide your personal workspace. These saved items are linked to your account and are not published as part of the shared library.
- Beta and subscription records: invitation email, activation and expiry dates, and, if you subscribe, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, status and access dates. Payment details are handled by Stripe.
- How you found us: when you create an account we save where your visit came from (the site, search engine or campaign link that brought you, and the first page you opened, never the full address you came from) and, if you tell us, how you heard about Top Carousels. We use this to see which channels work.
- Preferences and communications: email-update preferences and messages you send to support. Technical request and error information may also be processed to operate and protect the service.
We also store public Instagram post and creator information, including slide previews, handles, available engagement metrics and publication dates, to provide the research library. This information may be incomplete or become outdated.
Providers and storage
We use Cloudflare to host the service, database and stored media; Google for sign-in; Stripe for subscriptions; PostHog for product analytics; and Apify and Typesafe for collecting and classifying research references. Research providers receive the reference information needed for that task. Account and support information is not part of a carousel adaptation brief unless you put it there yourself.
If email delivery is enabled, an email service processes your address and the message being sent. We currently use Resend for configured transactional delivery. Providers may process information outside New Zealand. Their own policies apply to information you give directly to them.
Product analytics
We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how Top Carousels is used, so we can improve it: pages viewed, buttons and links clicked, searches and filters used, time spent, and the device, browser and approximate location (country and city, from your IP address). For signed-in users this is linked to your account (your account ID, name, email and plan). We may also record sessions in the app, a replay of the page as you used it, to find what is confusing or broken. Anything you type is hidden in recordings, as are email addresses on screen, and we don’t record your Settings (account and subscription) or unsubscribe pages.
Cookies and browser storage
We use session cookies for sign-in and browser storage for preferences such as card size and recently shown examples. PostHog keeps a random ID in the tab’s session storage, cleared when you close the tab, so one visit can be followed from page to page. When you start signing in, a short-lived cookie (one hour) passes where your visit came from to your new account. Once you have signed in on a browser, it keeps that ID in a cookie and browser storage so your visits on that browser can be linked. Removing these may sign you out or reset your preferences. Browsing the public landing page does not require an account.
Email updates
Account creation enrolls you in weekly carousel picks, tips and occasional product offers, as explained on the signup page. You can turn these off in Settings or use the unsubscribe link in an update. Turning updates off does not remove your account or bookmarks. Enrollment does not mean delivery is active; during beta, email delivery may remain paused.
Access, correction and deletion
Email hello@topcarousels.com to request a copy of your personal information, correct it or request account deletion. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. We keep information while needed to provide the service, handle your requests, maintain security or meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it when no longer needed. Some records may remain in backups or required billing records.
Signing in is optional, but you need an account to save personal references or use an invitation. If you believe we have not resolved a privacy concern, you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes
We will update this page as the service changes and notify account holders of material changes where appropriate.
